As a native Texan, Jon Chapman is used to heat.
After growing up in a small town in Central Texas (near Austin), he wasn’t going to let heat or anything else stop him from doing something creative. He found the perfect place to do just that at Focus Lab.
Jon thrives at solving complex problems, whether it’s user-friendliness in design or inheriting heritage brands that need to maintain their historical identity. He’s worked (and been awarded for his work) at ad agencies, and freelanced with brands both large and small, from local to international. After a string of layoffs in the unpredictable agency world, he set his sights on developing an independent design voice. His specialty is collaborating with thinkers and makers to develop dynamic brand systems and cutting-edge digital experiences.
Found through LinkedIn, Jon likes to say that Focus Lab collected him while he was working as an independent designer and hired-gun for creative projects. From their first interactions, he knew he resonated with Focus Lab’s values and that they were going to be a great culture fit.
When he’s not working on sharpening his design skills, Jon can be found writing and producing music or riding his single speed bike along the banks of Fort Worth’s Trinity River. Much of his inspiration comes from vintage commercial art and eccentricities found in nature.
