Natalie Kent

Natalie Kent is an inspiring champion of the designers, innovators, and creators of the world.

Natalie brings a powerhouse combination of brand expertise and leadership to the Focus Lab team in her role as Design Director. Raised in Texas just north of Houston, Natalie grew up being influenced by the attitude of always thinking big, and to pursue fearless solutions that can change the world.

Growing up in a family that supported her creative endeavors had a critical influence on her choice in a career in design. Because of this, Natalie works to ensure teams are encouraged, advocated for, and inspired in their work. At Focus Lab, she serves the design team by leading in the pursuit of inspiration, balancing creativity with logic and process, and seeking intentional visual systems and strategy-based design in branding. When it comes to leadership, she believes in fostering a positive, inspiring environment to deliver world-class work.

Natalie received her B.F.A. in graphic design from Texas Woman’s University before moving to Oklahoma City. Prior to Focus Lab, Natalie spent seven years as a creative director of a boutique branding agency, leading multidisciplinary teams of brand strategists, designers, and developers and building B2B and B2C brands.

In addition, Natalie is an experienced public speaker presenting at conferences and brand launches. She has led the development of successful brands which have been featured in TechCrunch and awarded by AIGA, Graphic Design USA, and the American Advertising Awards, among others. Through her creative advocacy, she’s also been recognized as one of the Top 10 Creatives in Oklahoma and as one of the 100 Amazing Women in Oklahoma City.

Natalie currently lives in Oklahoma City’s urban core with her husband and two dogs. An avid traveller and outdoor enthusiast, she can be found indulging in the wilderness, whether it be backpacking in Denali National Park, skiing at Snowbird, or climbing 14ers like Mount Sneffels. She is passionate about science, sustainability, accessibility, and advocating for a more equitable world.
